Anne is a Partner based in our Dundee office, with over 15 years experience in dispute resolution in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session and regulatory tribunals. She has broad experience of property, contract, professional negligence, landlord and tenant and education disputes, for both pursuers and defenders. Anne has particular experience in acting for insurers and is well versed in policy issues arising, both for policy holders and insurers. Anne also acts in the Lands Tribunal for land owners in telecoms disputes.

Anne acts for a wide variety of clients from Universities, SME’s, family businesses, land owners, individuals, corporate creditors, and insolvency practitioners. Clients appreciate Anne’s personable manner, quick and reliable advice and her ability to translate difficult legal issues into understandable relatable problems to be solved.

Anne’s approach is based on dispute resolution, with an focus on strategic risk management and reputation management. Anne also routinely carries out much of her own advocacy and also has a broad network of advocates when matters require to be brought to a determination. Anne has experience in all types of civil procedure, including judicial review but focusses on commercial procedure and alternative dispute resolution procedures.

In the last five years Anne has a specialised focus on issues arising in insolvency and acting for insolvency practitioners, as well as directors and creditors as part of our restructuring and insolvency team. In 2020 Anne took her Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency recognised by the Insolvency Practitioners Association.

Anne has significant experience in the use of diligence and asset recovery processes in debt recovery matters.

Anne also tutors on the Legal Diploma at Dundee University and Chairs in the Mock Court Project which aims to spread access to experience of legal procedures and debating amongst young people, and internationally.
